Before Stefano Noferini first graced the industry with his graceful Tech stylings, there was a certain tedium to the way Italian House music played out. But consistently proving the true Italian Stalion of the genres rustier sub-regions, his return to the ranks of 2000 & One’s 100% Pure imprint sparks yet more of those forward-thinking notions with the mighty Beat It / Q Factor EP.
For all his ingenuity both behind the decks and in the studio, ‘Beat It’ musters something of an old school appeal within its disjointed and inherently vintage canvas of decadent grooves. Proving that ‘less-is-more’ has always been a winning formula for formative Tech House music, the tracks quirky grooves and befitting lead work make for a fresh take on a more timeless style of club cut.
‘Q Factor’, however, is as atypically Italian Tech as they come. Lead by piercing leads and mechanical beats right through to its ambient apex, the a-sides more creative stylings are replaced by a formula that fits stunningly into the European club scenes more elusive late-night sound scopes. WIthout redefining the genre, Noferini refines his skilful guise and extensive experience behind the wheel of such unassuming peak time offerings by reeling 100% Pure’s most loosely characterised yet inherently exciting release of the year so far.
‘Beat It ‘ / ‘Q Factor’ are out now on 100% Pure via Beatport.
