Bonafide Chicago legend turned re-inspired House veteran Frankie Knuckles hits back with his inaugural release for 2012 with ‘Get Over U’ on Nocturnal Groove.
Since returning to the forefront of his craft courtesy of an unexpected remix interest from Hercules and the Love Affair for ‘Blind’, Frankie Knuckles has been relentless in reigniting the diverse flavours and unsinkable energy of a musical genre that he has relentlessly channelled for over four decades.
Setting his nest alongside Nocturnal Groovers Simon Marlin and Max Reich, the comfortable output of solid gold club stunners has suggested that the grammy award winning producer’s legacy is a book with a few pages still to be written and having remade the infamous ‘Your Love’ alongside Jamie Principle for 2011, his return to the spotlight for 2012 plays of with the same passionate disposition.
Laced with smooth disco strings and contagious rhythmic persuasion, Knuckles and studio partner Eric Kupper drive through a solid-dose of a style of music somewhat lost amid the modern industry, calling on the jaw-dropping vocal accolades of soulful songster Brian Slade to drive home a genuine highlight for the genre in the outset of 2012. With celebrated Parisian House master Sami ‘Le Flamant Rose’ Dee on edit duties, this is one installment of dignified floor delicacy that is sure to mark a welcome return to the heyday for clubbers and artists across the globe.
