Dada Life – Rolling Stone T-Shirt

Electronic Music has stolen some pretty sizeable hallmarks from Rock and Roll music. Between the extensive festival spots, poignant releases and fatal instalments of sausage grinding club fuel, Swedish fuzz masters and Musical Freedom fighters Dada Life have ridden the genres universal waves somewhat comfortably over the past couple of years. Returning to the label of Tiesto after the enigmatic force of their debut compilation Dada Life’s Musical Freedom, the highly anticipated Rolling Stone T-Shirt emerges in a twist not so bizarre given this inexplicably quirky duo’s track record.

Merging the ardent force of a guitar anthem with the paradoxical realms of modern age Progressive House, the addition of an infectious yet overtly sugary vocoded top line is brave, yet distinctly apt for an age where no genre really remembers its roots. Stereotypical cynicism aside, the duos grinding endeavour picks up where last years infamous vocal remakes left off and place Dada Life into the epicentre of a very special movement in Electronic music.

With Cazzette’s affirmatively dub-sided remix already proving popular on the live club circuit, the addition of Chuckie’s familiar Dutch assets for the release remix makes for a fittingly high-profile package for what can only be described as the duos most universally attainable anthem to date. These ardent Swedish producers may not move like Jagger, but their style comes second to none for this landmark release of 2012.
