Accomplished Dutch threesome Kraak & Smaak return to Jalapeno Records ahead of the release of their debut album to add vocal aptitude to their accomplished deep house playbook with “The Future Is Yours”. Fresh off the heels of mesmerizing house number “Hit The Club” for This Is Recordings, the trios well oiled keys and supple grooves are met by a first-in-class topline from returning collaborator Ben Westbeech, whose penchant for vocal club music is found comfortably in its element alongside this fortified Dutch stronghold. At a time when top lines are liberally donned to little avail, “The Future Is Yours” dares to emphasise the impactful quality vocal dance music from outside the industry comfort zone can bring to the table. In perhaps the most the distinctive offering of their matured club offerings to date, Kraak & Smaak stir a striking aural revolution in their studio output to date courtesy of this easy-flowing toe tapper of immense vocal properties.

Hot off the heels of stirring Essential Mix duties for BBC Radio One, multifaceted Swedish house mogul Eric Prydz extends the grasp of his accomplished musical digressions with latest Pryda offering “Power Drive”. Dropping just four months after the Bergen / Recomondos EP, Prydz’s deep compositional aptitude continues to drive this infamous moniker towards unprecedented quality, building several dimensions of slick melodic lead work before ascending into a hallmarked transition of refined progressive club fuel as true to his musical aura as it is a definitive extension of this album-mongering moniker. While we may never truly know the exact extent of what this Swedish icon has up his musical sleeve, “Power Drive” is yet further testament to an artist who continues to solidify his relevance within modern dance music with unique quality.

“Power Drive” is out April 1st on Pryda Friends.

Even among the modern mainstay of retro-house compounds, Tiger Bunny frontrunner and devout disco advocate Sharam Jey has consistently turned heads. In response to his latest label EP alongside Kolombo, the German trailblazer drops latest docile solo outing “The Time”. A vivid dovetail of vintage disco schematics and profound song writing, the tracks bleeds with emotive edge and refined club appeal, using supple female vocals and warm melodic builds to rack another home run for the beloved European imprint. Dropping ahead of his next EP alongside Night Talk, “The Time” adds yet another nostalgically charged notch in Jey’s outspoken house armory that sparks wonderment for the ranks of traditionally charged floor play for the modern market.
